Excuse #359
Reason for not posting: I keep forgetting my camera at all the family things we keep doing. Lame, I know. Maybe I need a smaller/more compact camera that I can keep in a pocket in my purse evermore. Because really...does anyone want a post without pics...rarely! (except maybe my friend Jen that has one of the funniest blogs I have ever read!!)

SIKE!...strike that, reverse it!
After letting school out on Monday the kids thought they were in for a nice vacation. But by late Tuesday afternoon, the school district had again followed the ever-changing CDC's guidelines...and decided to reopen schools on Thursday, as in yesterday. Christian was momentarily bummed....but is over it now. He really did enjoy the 2 days off. We got to go to the pool a bunch. And this way, we didn't have to pull him out of school on Wednesday to go up to San Antonio for an ear check-up ( our last one). Christian got the final okay that once we get to CA, he can go in the water.

Mr. Independent...oh,and schools out!

Today we went to the gym. As a side note, before we went, we attempted to take Shane to go #2, because he said he had to go. But...he couldn't...wasn't ready, I dunno! So...we get him into Kid's Club and go work out (that's funny because my work outs are quite pathetic these days). We come back an hour later to pick him up. The girls at Kids Club inform me that Shane went "potty" on his own and that she had offered to help him wipe but he said he could do it himself. So, I chuckle to myself. He has NEVER done it by himself....and can only imagine what that looked like inside the bathroom. I ask him if he went poo-poo all by himself and he nods and walks away as if to say " of course, Mom! No chick's going to wipe my bum." Anyhow. I expected to find some serious skid marks on his undies. But upon inspection...it seems as if there is none. My conclusion: either he had a clean one....or he really wiped! Either way...big step for a big boy! I just dread the day its big and gross and he "tries" to do it himself...and I get to clean up the aftermath.
On another random note....so Christian is home for 9 days from school. They have officially shut down our entire School District because of the Swine Flu. Which, for the record, I think is so over hyped! BUT...as a pregnant mama--maybe its better for us to steer clear anyhow. Christian is totally stoked. He is looking forward to making up for the Spring Break he got gypped on because he had ear surgery. It's nice we have a fun pool here at "home" now...and the beach 2 minutes away. He is diving into Harry Potter, too...you know, to keep his intellectual skills in order=) My only worry/concern...is I hope they don't try to make them make up some of that time. I don't think that's possible.....and we cannot anyhow...we have to leave anyhow. So...thanks Swine Flu for Spring Break-Take 2!!

What happened to my blog groove?
I've lost it. I have blogged only matter-of-factual things. I want to post more...but find I am running around too much...and when we're not...I just want to do a whole bunch of nothing. And certainly my creative juices are lacking. I guess we knew these 2 months of limbo here on the island were going to be more like a forced vacation...but with lingering responsibility (ie. baseball, school, callings, everyday errands). I guess its just odd to be living out of a suitcase.
Shawna will find her groove....someday!

The last of all birthdays...
My favorite quote for next year was awesome..."I can't wait to turn 30 so people will take me seriously!" AWESOME!! Is it true? People can automatically tell you are no longer a naive 20 something and have life experience enoigh to be considered a serious adult. Well, I hope so...because I am on my way!
I had a pretty regular day on my actual birthday...but it was good. Christian had a baseball game that night...and hit me a home run for my big day. Some of my girlfriends took me to lunch on my actual birthday...which was good...unfortunately I had a busy 3 year old so I felt out of it. Then the next day more girlfriends took me to lunch...this time WITHOUT my busy boy...and it was much more relaxing. I was spoiled from everyone...and was grateful for all the well-wishes. I am always amazed at how people can remember random birth dates...I wish I was personally better at that!
The weekend brought the rest of my birthday celebrations....Friday Gav took me out to a cute bay-front restaurant in Port Aransas. And yummy homemade dessert locally! And Saturday Christian offered to sacrifice his manliness to take me on a hot date to the movies to see Hannah Montana. Which, me and my pregnancy hormones cried at...and I really thought it was cute...well done! Christian was a trooper...a chick flick just for his mommy!! He did make one last ditch effort to save himself and offered to see the Dragonballz movie...I declined. My Christian is a treasure. He is much like his daddy...very thoughtful and often very aware of people's feelings!
Thanks everyone for a wonderful 29th birthday!
Easter Fun
Easter was great and low-key and kind of last minute because of this:
Good friends, good times, lots of food, TONS of candy....and a great reminder of a priceless gift!
But we didn't mind...and are just glad our cute Sophie is healed!
In my laziness....I'll let the slides speak...

Shane's spare time
Here's his new life on the island. I am not sure if we're going to be able to make him move now. Although, he is convinced he is moving to California where his Gammy and Papa are going to take him to Disney every day. I think he may have a bit of a reality check shortly. In the meantime, bring on the beautiful weather and pool-side service!!

Maternity Help

Hence this post.....whether currently prego, recently delivered, or just an awesome stylist....I need some places (online, in-store, etc) to look for some cute stuff. HELP!!
Less than 200
I have been watching that stupid counter...awaiting the day it said I had less than 200 days left. 200 seemed like a HUGE number...especially when its counting the number of days I have to get even larger and larger...and to be slightly uncomfortably bigger.
So...hooray for my belly...less then 200 days until baby peanut (have I mentioned how much I hope its a girl??) arrives!
Oh..and while I am on the subject. I just have to say that no matter how "in shape" you think you are before you get prego...by the third child, there is little to no hope I can fit in my clothes or stay reasonably normal sized for very long.
And....after having said all of that...I am still a firm believer that this whole having a baby thing and getting prego is a miracle. And we are all still excited!
