McEwan Men Tradition...

One of the cutest things Gavin has brought to our marriage and family is his family's tradition of making these DELICIOUS homemade waffles. There is little more adorable than seeing men in the kitchen whipping eggs. But the one thing that tops that is...seeing Gav teaching our boys the family tradition.

Here they are this morning...Christian with the eggs and Shane with the rest of the batter...and happy as can be. "Dad is great, gives us chocolate cake!"-classic Bill Cosby line.

I love when we have a slower Sunday afternoon...with no other expectations or obligations. It gives me ample opportunity to blog all I want (hence the multiple posts in one day!)

So when my kids get the ripe age, I don't have to cook anymore???? Loralee says our kids look alike - so mine are cute too??????

Wow, that is so cute! They both look like they totally know what they are doing and they do it all the time. They have that "how you doin'" thing down very well.

Hey Shawna-
I hope you don't mind that I stole your blog address off of tracy's blog. Your boys are so adorable. I haven't seen you guys in a long time. I assume Gavins job took you to Texas? Well, I hope all is well and I hope you dont mind me commenting on your page!!!! Take care sweetie!!

I get there on dec 6, dave gets there on the 15th, and we'll be there until the 2nd. so we'll be around for the wedding too. I can't believe joe is coming home already!!! CRAZY! You guys are gonna have a blast being all together again. We'll have to plan a big cousin get together...maybe without kids???
ps-are gav's parents okay? has the fire reached them? mom and dad haven't had mandatory evacuation yet, but mom was having such a hard time breathing, so she went over to garth's (I guess susan has bad asthma too-I know she's got something that checks the air quality and so far inside the house is safe, so Mom's breathing better). We don't have tv so I've been glued to the live stream on the internet. I hope everything's okay for all your family.

Love that family togetherness, prompted by Gavin. I still remember when Gavin cooked us waffles the first year you were married. I have a great recipe for light ww waffles. But I am sure you have all the recipes you want.

Ed and I cook omelettes and pancakes or crepes for a lovely breakfast. Ed and I cook in the kitchen a lot. But mostly I cook, Ed loves what I cook. It is not hard to cook when your husband is encouraging and gives you the money to cook great meat dishes(nice cuts of meat) and good balanced meals.
Ed is the best.

Love,
Grammie Staley

Aw for cute. I'll have to show this to Ryan! That's a good idea - life with lots of boys could be better with some mom-pampering traditions!
